The City of Parker is hosting a drive for the Collin County Peanut Butter Drive that benefits the North Texas Food Bank. We're calling on all of our awesome Parker residents to please help by participating in donating peanut butter to help feed the hungry in North Texas! Our goal is to collect more than 250 jars this year!
There are over 44,000 food insecure children in Collin County alone. Hunger can be a hidden issue in any community. The City of Parker wants to help raise awareness surrounding the issue of food insecurity for children, families and seniors in hopes that others will get involved in the fight against hunger.
Why peanut butter? Peanut butter is kid-friendly, nutritious and high in protein. It's also a food item that might be considered expensive, therefore not being a popular donated item.
What all can be donated during this drive? Regular-sized, 16 oz, Plastic jars of any brand of peanut butter is acceptable. Other butters, such as almond butter, hazelnut butter, sunflower seed butter and soy nut butter are also accepted. Please refrain from donating glass containers. Donation boxes are located in the lobby of City Hall from September 1st through September 30th.
If you prefer to make a monetary donation, please make your check or money order payable to: The North Texas Food Bank (also being collected at City Hall).
We appreciate your passionate efforts in helping us raise awareness by coming together as a community!
