On September, 2006 Tony Fragoso was promoted to Chief from Sergeant of the Parker Police Department.

Tony had 22 years of service with the McKinney Police Department, 20 of which were served on the SWAT Team, the last eight years served as the SWAT Team Leader. He worked in Undercover Narcotics, Major Crimes Units, including Robbery/Homicide.

Shortly after the City of Parker was incorporated in 1969, the need for some type of law enforcement was recognized. W.C. "Bill" Frizzell was appointed as City Marshal on a part time basis on March 1, 1971. He continued to serve in this capacity until November 1985 when the city determined it needed full-time law enforcement. Danny Scott was appointed as the City's first police chief with the responsibility of organizing and implementing full-time police protection for the citizens of Parker. In October 1986 Dennis Pirkle became police chief of Parker. Chief Pirkle organized and implemented an active reserve force consisting of nine certified law enforcement officers. On April 10, 1995 Ron Spatafora became police chief after serving as a Parker reserve officer since 1987. In May, 2000, Ray Simmons was hired as the Parker Police Chief, and upon his retirement in September, 2006, Sergeant Tony Fragoso was promoted to Police Chief.

The City of Parker was recognized by "D" magazine as the most desirable suburb in Collin County, and one of the important metrics used to judge the City was Parker's non-existent violent crime rate, thanks to our fine Police Department, headed by Chief Fragoso.
