The Parker Women’s Club kicked off their 40th Anniversary Year with 48 ladies in attendance at their September general membership meeting, Thirty members and guests attended the October informal get-together at Bonnie Ruth’s and the Oil & Vinegar store in Watters Crossing. Both meetings were fun and informational, plus generated many new members. The next general membership meeting will be Thursday evening, December 19, at the home of Jane Marshall in Moss Ridge Estates. Mark your calendars and plan to spend an evening during the busy holiday season with your PWC friends and neighbors. All Parker ladies are welcome to attend.
During this holiday season, the Parker Women’s Club is again sponsoring our traditional “Angel Tree” project. The Club has selected several local families in need of a little help to fulfill their Christmas wishes this year. The “Angel Tree” is located in the lobby at City Hall. We would like to invite all Parker residents to select an “angel” from the tree listing specific wishes from a family . . . financial contributions are also welcome. The deadline for returning your items to City Hall is December 10. PWC volunteers will wrap and deliver all items before Christmas Day to the families.
In lieu of our general membership meeting in November, the Club is busy planning its 4th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair & Bake Sale (formerly ‘Shop til You Drop’) to be held at Victory Church (6301 E. Parker Rd.) on Friday and Saturday, November 22 (9am-5pm) and November 23 (9am-4pm). Plan to stop by and do a little holiday shopping. Over 30 vendors will be displaying their hand-made items for sale, and some of your favorite ‘brand name’ companies will be taking holiday orders as well.
The new City of Parker Directory is currently “at the printer” for publication. Countless hours of volunteer help over the past four to five months have gone into the preparation and publication of this new City Directory. The Parker Women’s Club is still in need of volunteers to assist in neighborhood deliveries in December. Please consider helping us with this major project!
